The Police Commissioner of Ondo is looking to collaborate with Fulani leaders to enhance security measures.

The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Wilfred Afolabi, has advocated for a stronger partnership with the Fulani community to improve security throughout the region.

In a security meeting held in Owo, Afolabi highlighted the necessity for cooperation between the police and community leaders to enhance safety. He urged Fulani leaders to stay alert and refrain from offering sanctuary to criminals under any circumstances.

He also called on them to share reliable intelligence that could help address crimes such as kidnapping, while supporting the efforts of security agencies.

Regarding the ongoing tensions between herders and farmers, the police commissioner emphasized the significance of peaceful coexistence. He cautioned against grazing on agricultural lands, stating that mutual respect is crucial to prevent conflicts and ensure the sustainability of livelihoods.

In reply, the Fulani leaders commended the police for their dedication to upholding law and order. They conveyed their commitment to peaceful coexistence and pledged to assist the police in fighting crime by providing pertinent information.

The Ondo State Police Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding all citizens and promoting a secure atmosphere in the state.
