The Sultan announced that reports of sightings came in from various locations including Borno, Zazzau, Dutse, and Maru within the country.
He stated that they have now reached the conclusion of Ramadan fasting and that Sunday, March 30, marks the celebration of Eid-el-Fitri.
The Sultan extended his congratulations to Muslims for successfully completing their Ramadan fast and encouraged them to uphold the values of patience, piety, and charity beyond this holy month.
Additionally, he urged Nigerians to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the nation, while advising worshippers to perform the Eid prayers peacefully and in line with Islamic principles.
In related news, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has clarified that the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, does not have any intentions to Islamize Nigeria.
According to Naija News, Imam Haroun Muhammad Eze, the Deputy National Legal Adviser of the NSCIA, stated in a press release on Tuesday that a social media post connecting the Sultan to the Islamization of Nigeria was misleading.
He added that the Sultan has not been in Nigeria for the last two weeks, deeming the claims as baseless and unfounded.
