PDP Leaders Convene in Abuja to Strategize Ahead of NEC Meeting

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a pivotal caucus meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. This gathering followed an adjourned session from the previous day, where the party was unable to address all agenda items, including discussions concerning the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. Subsequently, the NEC meeting was rescheduled for 2:00 PM at the PDP secretariat annex, known as Legacy House.

The NEC, being one of the highest decision-making bodies within the PDP, comprises the National Chairman, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), state governors, serving and former presidents, former vice-presidents, the chairman and secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT), principal officers of the National Assembly, state chairpersons, former governors, and founding members, among others. The meeting aims to address critical issues affecting the party and to strategize for upcoming political engagements.

In a related development, the PDP condemned the Federal Capital Territory Development Authority (FCTDA) for sealing off its national secretariat at Wadata Plaza on Monday due to unpaid ground and tenancy rent. The party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, criticized the action as irresponsible and vowed to challenge it..
