Wave5 Wireless, a Nigerian broadband provider, is set to raise capital to support its mission of expanding internet services nationwide. The company, which currently operates fixed wireless broadband services in several Nigerian states including Lagos, Ogun, and Rivers, plans to extend its reach to underserved and unconnected regions across the country.
CEO of Wave5, Lanre Kolade, revealed this during the launch of the company’s new brand identity in Lagos. He emphasized that reliable internet access is a key driver of economic and social development and expressed the company’s commitment to bridging Nigeria’s digital divide.
According to Kolade, Wave5 aims to deliver high-speed, affordable internet, with a focus on user-friendly services. He noted that the brand relaunch reflects the company’s vision for innovation, digital inclusion, and customer-centric solutions.
The expansion drive aligns with Nigeria’s national broadband policy, which targets 70% broadband penetration by 2025. Wave5 believes that improving internet infrastructure will unlock significant opportunities for businesses, education, and individuals, especially in rural and remote areas.
The company plans to attract both local and international investors to fund the expansion, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving nationwide connectivity.
