World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has praised President Bola Tinubu for achieving economic stability in Nigeria, describing it as a critical foundation for national progress. Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa on August 14, 2025, she said the administration’s reform policies are moving in the right direction and deserve commendation.
Okonjo-Iweala, however, stressed that stability must be followed by deliberate efforts to stimulate growth and strengthen social safety nets. She urged the government to focus on creating jobs, boosting incomes, and providing protection for vulnerable citizens affected by the economic transition. According to her, pairing stability with inclusive growth measures will ensure Nigerians feel the positive impact of the reforms in their daily lives.
