Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Prices by N15 Nationwide, Promises Stable, Affordable Supply

In/a move set to bring relief to motorists across the country, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a N15 reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) across all its retail outlets nationwide.

The new prices, effective immediately, range from N875 to N905 per litre, depending on region. For instance, Lagos residents will now pay N875, down from N890, while those in the South-South and North-East regions will pay N905, down from N920.

A regional breakdown reveals:

Lagos – N875

South-West – N885

North-Central & North-West – N895

South-South & South-East – N905

North-East – N905

The price cut applies to all partner marketers including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy, according to a statement issued via Dangote Refinery’s official social media channels.

The company urged consumers to only purchase fuel from its verified outlets and report any discrepancies through its hotlines: +234 707 470 2099 and +234 707 470 2100.

“Our fuels are refined to enhance engine performance and meet environmental standards,” the company noted.

This latest price reduction follows the reactivation of a refund policy benefit for distributors and comes amid reports that independent marketers have resumed large-scale petrol imports, with over 496 million litres discharged across Nigerian ports between May 11–20, 2025.

The refinery attributed the price cut to its naira-for-crude exchange deal, which it says allows for reduced operating costs and greater affordability at the pump. It further assured Nigerians that its pricing strategy remains focused on stability and economic relief, even as global crude oil prices remain volatile.

In a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the company reiterated its commitment to supporting the Nigerian economy and easing the financial burden on consumers.
