Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) emphatic 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final ignited nationwide celebrations in France. However, the jubilation quickly turned chaotic, resulting in two fatalities and over 500 arrests. In Paris, a man on a scooter was fatally struck by a car, while in Dax, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death during the festivities. The French Interior Ministry reported 559 arrests across the country, with 491 in Paris alone. Authorities also noted 692 fires, including 264 vehicles set ablaze, and injuries to 18 police officers and seven firefighters. Despite the unrest, PSG plans to proceed with a victory parade on the Champs-Élysées, with President Emmanuel Macron set to host the team at the Elysée Palace.
