Tinubu Greenlights 30,150-Strong Recruitment Drive Across Paramilitary Agencies

President Bola Tinubu has given the go-ahead for a major recruitment initiative, approving the enlistment of 30,150 personnel across four frontline security agencies, as directed by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) on June 3, 2025 .

Here’s the breakdown of the recruitment plan:

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS): 10,000 new recruits

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC): 10,000 new personnel

Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS): 5,150 new members

Federal Fire Service (FFS): 5,000 recruits

CDCFIB Secretariat: 209 new positions .

The government has proposed shortening the usual six-week public notice period to just three weeks, aiming to accelerate the process. Funding has been confirmed by the Budget Office, ensuring the scheme is ready to roll out .

This strategic recruitment aligns with President Tinubu’s broader objectives of strengthening internal security, enhancing emergency services, and reducing youth unemployment through robust public sector opportunities.
