Military Arrests Chinese Suspect in Borno/Yobe Counter‑Terror Sweep

During a coordinated counter-terrorism operation in Borno and Yobe States, troops from Operation Hadin Kai detained a Chinese national who claimed to be a miner, accusing him of involvement in terrorist logistics  . The arrest occurred in Kukawa and Ngala LGAs between June 5–7, according to DHQ spokesman Maj‑Gen Markus Kangye . Investigations are underway to determine the suspect’s true intentions, activities, and whether he had accomplices. He remains in custody and is undergoing interrogation, with fuller details to be released upon completion of the probe  .

The military also reported the capture of five individuals supplying logistics to Boko Haram/ISWAP.
