In a bold move to strengthen disaster readiness, Ondo State and Lagos State have formalized a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing how both regions prepare for and respond to emergencies.
The collaboration kicked off on June 15, 2025, when Lagos invited an Ondo State delegation to explore Lagos’ state-of-the-art disaster management framework — including its advanced Command & Control Centre, grassroots responder training, and flood evacuation camps — all coordinated under LASEMA .
During the exchange, Lagos authorities shared key insights into their flood campaign, infrastructure clean-up efforts, and multi-agency communication systems. In turn, the Ondo delegation committed to adopting these best practices, signaling their intention to tailor them toward Ondo’s unique environment and risks.
This milestone partnership highlights a shared vision: stronger regional resilience through inter-state cooperation, knowledge sharing, and practical disaster readiness. It’s a significant step toward creating a safer, better-prepared future for millions across southern Nigeria.
