During the broadcast, Obi emphasized his lack of political desperation, declaring he’s motivated solely by a vision to “see Nigeria work”—not by a desire for power . He affirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s informal zoning arrangement, promising to respect it by relinquishing office on May 28, 2031, if elected in 2027 .
Obi also reaffirmed his stance on coalition politics: he’s open to strategic alliances only if they tackle urgent national issues such as curbing violence in Benue, Zamfara, and Borno states, reviving the economy and local industries, and improving food security. Any coalition formed purely for political convenience will be rejected .
He reassured Nigerians of decisive action within his first 100 days in office, targeting security, education, and poverty reduction as key priorities. Obi vows to stabilize Nigeria within two years, cut governance costs, fight corruption from day one, and ensure strong opposition dynamics by discouraging officials from defecting between parties .
Highlighting President Tinubu’s frequent foreign travels—like a recent trip to Saint Lucia—Obi argued leaders should focus on fixing domestic crises first, likening St. Lucia’s population unfavorably to that of Ilorin, a major Nigerian city .
