Aiyedatiwa Applauds N500bn ‘Produce for Lagos’ Fund, Declares Ondo’s Readiness for Partnership

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has commended the launch of the N500 billion “Produce for Lagos Offtake Fund,” describing it as a significant boost for agricultural and economic cooperation between Lagos and other states. The initiative, led by Lagos State, aims to create a robust supply chain for agricultural produce to meet the demands of its large urban population.

Speaking during the fund’s official launch in Lagos, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that Ondo State is fully prepared to collaborate with Lagos on this strategic initiative. He highlighted Ondo’s agricultural capacity and its potential to become a key supplier of food products through this scheme.

He noted that the partnership aligns with Ondo’s vision for agribusiness development and would enhance farmers’ income, stimulate rural economies, and strengthen food security. Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence that the program would foster interstate economic synergy and support the broader national goal of reducing post-harvest losses and improving market access for farmers.

The governor also lauded Lagos State for its foresight and commitment to regional collaboration, stating that the fund represents a model for sustainable food systems and economic integration in Nigeria.
