All Nigeria Police Force (NPF) commands and formations have been instructed by Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu to immediately submit information about current inspectors and rank-and-file employees who possess doctorates, master’s degrees, or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) certificates.

The Force Secretary’s Office in Abuja sent out a statement instructing all police commands, departments, colleges, and training facilities to send the needed data by Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the latest.
“IGP directs, as a matter of urgency, that you forward a list of inspectors/rank-and-file serving under you who are holders of doctorate degrees, master’s degrees or LLB, in addition to their posting signals, on or before 16/09/2026. I repeat, on or before 16/09/2026. Treat as very important,” the message stated.
The Nigeria Police Force Secretary’s Office in Abuja signed the wireless message, which was sent to all state commands, the AIG, the Department of Training and Development, Police Colleges, and other departments and training facilities.
Additionally, all Commissioners of Police and the office of the Inspector-General of Police received copies of it.
The directive particularly asked for information about inspectors and rank-and-file employees with the specified academic credentials, as well as their posting signals.
The request was deemed urgent by the police authorities, and September 16, 2026 is the deadline.
