A dramatic incident occurred during the premiere of Owambe Thieves, a film by Eniola Ajao, when Nollywood actresses Laide Bakare and Eniola Badmus became embroiled in a heated argument that garnered significant attention. The event took place on Sunday evening at Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos, and unexpectedly took a turn when a video surfaced online showing Bakare and Badmus engaged in a fiery exchange. In the viral footage, Bakare could be heard questioning Badmus's mental well-being, prompting Badmus to respond with an intense glare before she turned away. The dispute escalated further when a man believed to be Badmus's bodyguard attempted to calm things down, but Bakare continued her outburst.
Soon after the incident, Bakare took to Instagram to share screenshots of a private conversation between the two actresses. In their exchange, Badmus criticized Bakare for posting an unflattering photograph of her on social media, calling it “animalistic behavior.” Bakare retorted by labeling Badmus as ungrateful, asserting that she had previously assisted her colleague in securing one of her first film roles during a period when others in the industry disregarded her because of her size. The clash has sparked conversations online, with numerous fans and onlookers weighing in on the public dispute between the two Nollywood actresses.
