Gunmen Abduct Fulani Leader in Kogi, Shoot Wife and Son

In a disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, unidentified gunmen abducted a prominent Fulani leader, Alhaji Salihu Ibrahim, in Kogi State. The attack occurred in Pambana, a village in the Yagba East Local Government Area, late on Wednesday night.

According to local reports, the armed assailants stormed the residence of the Fulani community head and forcefully whisked him away. In the course of the attack, they shot both his wife and son, inflicting severe injuries. The victims are currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.

Community members have expressed deep concern over the growing insecurity in the area, calling on the government and security agencies to urgently intervene and rescue the abducted leader. The motive behind the abduction remains unclear, and authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.

Residents are urging heightened surveillance and a swift response to forestall further attacks, as fear and tension continue to grip the region following the violent assault.
