The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has thrown its full support behind NNPC Ltd.’s leadership and its ambitious reform agenda. The students group voiced concern over recent claims of a “coordinated sabotage campaign” by insiders and outsiders attempting to undermine efforts to transform the energy giant into a corruption-free, performance-driven company .
In an emphatic statement signed by NANS PR Officer, Comrade Adeyemi Ajasa, the student body praised the alignment of these reforms with President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” stressing that they are crucial for safeguarding Nigeria’s economic future and sovereignty .
Representing over 40 million students nationally and internationally, NANS warned that if those sabotaging the reform fail to cease their activities, Nigerian students will mobilise peacefully across the country in defence of the national interest .
The association urged all Nigerians—media, civil society, and patriotically minded citizens—to rally behind the reformers. Their powerful message: “We will confront sabotage with solidarity, match misinformation with truth, and counter regression with resolve.”
