According to the father, he discovered the horrifying truth after his daughter returned home in pain and narrated her ordeal. The suspect, said to be a trusted neighbour who often sent the girl on errands, allegedly took advantage of her trust and innocence.
The case has since been reported to the police, and the suspect was arrested. However, the victim’s father is urging authorities not to allow the matter to be swept under the carpet. He expressed concern about potential attempts to cover up the crime, insisting that justice must be served to protect his daughter and deter others from such acts.
Meanwhile, human rights advocates have condemned the incident, urging swift legal action and psychological support for the young victim. The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the arrest and assured that a thorough investigation is underway.
