Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi and currently representing Ogun West in the National Assembly, is preparing to run for the governorship of Ogun State in the 2027 elections. This revelation was made by his Special Assistant on New Media, Damilare Oloyede, through a post shared on social media.
According to Oloyede, the senator has responded to widespread calls from Ogun residents urging him to take a shot at the state’s top seat. He noted that Senator Adeola has garnered strong grassroots support across the state, thanks to his development-driven initiatives and political influence. The aide expressed confidence that the lawmaker would not only receive the support of the people but could also secure endorsement from the current governor.
Senator Adeola, who previously represented Lagos West before relocating his political base to Ogun, is now serving his first term in the Senate on behalf of Ogun West. His camp believes his track record in infrastructure development, empowerment programs, and advocacy for the Ogun West region makes him a strong contender in the 2027 governorship race.
