President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honoured the Super Falcons with national awards and cash gifts in recognition of their outstanding performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).Each player was conferred with a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) award and also received a cash prize of $100,000.
The team’s coaching staff were not left out, as they were similarly honoured for their contribution to the team’s success.The president made the announcement on Monday during a special reception at the State House in Abuja. He commended the players for their hard work, resilience, and for making Nigeria proud on the continental stage.
Tinubu described the Super Falcons as worthy ambassadors of the country and expressed confidence in their ability to bring more glory to Nigeria in future tournaments.
