Ontario has issued 468 invitations to skilled workers and international graduates through its Immigration Nominee Program (OINP), opening new pathways for those seeking permanent residency. The invitations, released on August 28, 2025, aim to strengthen the province’s workforce and support economic development in under-served regions.
The invitations were divided across key streams. Under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream, candidates with scores of 53 and above received 94 invitations. The Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream recorded the highest intake, with 236 invitations sent to applicants scoring 66 points or more.
Additionally, a significant portion of the draw was dedicated to the Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) Pilot, which focuses on attracting talent to Northern Ontario and other targeted communities such as Lambton and Lanark. The pilot seeks to fill critical roles in healthcare, engineering, trades, and technology by offering a direct path to permanent residency.
Ontario’s latest move underscores its commitment to tackling labor shortages while encouraging immigration beyond major cities. By widening opportunities for foreign workers and international graduates, the province hopes to balance workforce demand, promote regional growth, and sustain its long-term economic vision.
