The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), under the direction of Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Oluseyi Babaseyi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Ogun State Police Command.
Babaseyi, an alumnus of the first regular course at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, holds an LL.B from the academy, a BL from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, and a diploma in law from Osun State University.
His career includes extensive experience across operational, investigative, and administrative units. He has served as Divisional Crime Officer in Monatan and Kajorepo Divisions, as Officer-in-Charge of Ilaji and Lagelu Police Posts in Oyo State, and as Unit Commander in the Police Mobile Force (22 PMF).
In 2023, Babaseyi completed training at the Nigeria Army School of Special Forces, Buni Yadi, and later led joint military-police operations under Operation Hadin Kai in Yobe and Borno States — underscoring his operational background.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command and as Secretary to the Lagos Commissioner of Police, where he had significant responsibilities in media relations and high-level administration.
The new PPRO posting signals the police force’s commitment to stronger community engagement and improved communication between law enforcement and the public in Ogun State.
