SGF George Akume Ties the Knot With Ex-Ooni of Ife Queen Zaynab in Widely Celebrated Union

Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has reportedly married Queen Zaynab Ngohemba, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. The announcement of their union was shared publicly through a festive social media post by Abraham Double-D Dajoh, a member of the influential Dajoh family from Benue State, who described the marriage as a joyful and “uncommon” milestone for the SGF’s household.

In the celebratory message, the Dajoh family warmly welcomed Queen Zaynab into their fold in Mbakor, Benue State, affectionately introducing her as the new wife of Senator Akume and thanking supporters for their continued loyalty. They also extended heartfelt Christmas and New Year greetings alongside their welcome message, underscoring the festive timing of the announcement.

Queen Zaynab, once widely known as Olori Wuraola during her 17-month marriage to the Ooni between 2016 and 2017, has now entered a new chapter in her personal life with Nigeria’s top government official. The union has sparked significant online discussion, given her previous royal ties and Mr. Akume’s prominent role in national politics under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

While some earlier reports suggested the wedding took place during the recent festive period, a spokesman for Mr. Akume clarified that the marriage actually occurred more than a year ago, and the recent social media post served as a formal public introduction of the couple’s relationship.
