The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a stern warning to federal universities against establishing satellite campuses without proper authorization. This directive, communicated through a memo from the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, to the National Universities Commission (NUC) on May 30, 2025, aims to enhance the quality of tertiary education nationwide. Dr. Alausa highlighted a concerning trend where universities are setting up poorly planned satellite campuses lacking adequate academic structures and infrastructure.
