The Kogi State Police Command has requested the cancellation of a scheduled rally in Okene due to security concerns, coinciding with Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s anticipated return for a political event today.
In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP William Ovye Aya, the police cautioned that intelligence reports suggest plans by miscreants to take control of the event and create unrest. This announcement follows the Kogi State Government’s prohibition of all rallies and processions, aimed at ensuring peace throughout the state.
Natasha, who is the senatorial candidate for Kogi Central representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently organized a widely attended rally that ignited political discussions in the region. Her return today is expected to attract considerable attention, raising concerns about how the rally ban will be enforced.
