The Federal Government of Nigeria has introduced a monthly stipend of ₦45,000 for students enrolled in technical colleges across the country. This initiative, announced by the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Prof. Idris Bugaje, aims to rejuvenate the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. By providing financial incentives, the government seeks to attract more young Nigerians to technical education, equipping them with practical skills for employment both domestically and internationally. This move is part of a broader strategy to reposition the sector and address skill gaps in the nation’s workforce.
