The Federal Government has approved a sum of ₦1 billion for the commencement of a new Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State. This announcement was made by Senator Abdulhamid Ahmed Malam Madori, who chairs the Senate Committee on Policies Affairs and represents Jigawa Northeast Senatorial District, during the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme held in Kafin Hausa.Senator Madori confirmed that all necessary legislative processes for the establishment of the institute have been completed, with the bill already passed by the Senate. The project, which is included in the 2025 national budget, now awaits President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s final approval for execution.He explained that the institute aims to boost the training and capacity-building of police personnel nationwide, equipping them with modern techniques to better address the country’s security challenges. Madori noted that he personally initiated and sponsored the motion in the Senate, which received broad support and secured the required funding.As part of his broader efforts to strengthen security in the region, Senator Madori also donated a brand-new Toyota Hilux to the Kafin Hausa Divisional Police Headquarters.
Additionally, he financed the renovation and furnishing of the police station and its barracks to enhance local law enforcement facilities.The senator further disclosed that over 8,000 youths and women in Kafin Hausa have benefited from his various empowerment initiatives. He also contributed over ₦5 million towards the completion of the Central Jumaat Mosque in the area. In his closing remarks, Madori thanked the people of Kafin Hausa for their hospitality and active involvement in the community engagement programme.
