The National Universities Commission (NUC) has announced the commencement of a nationwide recruitment exercise to fill various positions at its headquarters in Abuja. The Commission disclosed that the online application portal has been activated for interested Nigerians to submit their applications.
According to the announcement, vacancies are available for officer cadre roles, confidential secretaries, and clerical or auxiliary staff. Applicants are expected to apply strictly through the NUC recruitment portal, as no hardcopy applications will be entertained. The portal will remain open for six weeks from the date of publication, after which it will automatically close.
For the officer cadre, positions are available at different levels including Senior Officer (CONTISS 9), Officer I/Trainee (CONTISS 8), and Officer II/Trainee (CONTISS 7). Requirements for the Senior Officer role include a PhD in a relevant discipline or a Master’s degree with at least six years of experience, while additional professional certifications are considered an advantage.
The NUC assured that the recruitment process will be transparent, competitive, and strictly based on merit. It also urged applicants to carefully follow the instructions provided on the portal, noting that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the process.
