The Nigerian Army has announced the full recovery of the Sambisa Forest, a region long notorious as a hideout for terror groups in the North-East. After sustained ground and air operations, military authorities say the once-contested territory is now firmly under Army control, with troops deployed across the area to ensure lasting security.
According to the Defence headquarters, the recent operations have successfully cleared out remaining hostile elements, restoring safety and stability to the forest that has been a stronghold for extremists for years. Senior officers have urged civilians and communities alike to remain vigilant while troops maintain a presence to prevent any attempt at regrouping by insurgents.
Military officials also reiterated their commitment to enabling legitimate economic and social activities in the region, emphasising that the reclaimed Sambisa Forest will no longer serve as a sanctuary for terror groups. Citizens are encouraged to support security forces with credible information to help sustain peace.
Prayers and goodwill messages have been called for the gallant men and women of the Armed Forces as they continue their efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
