The Ikeja Magistrates’ Court has discharged Comfort Emmason of all allegations linked to her alleged unruly behaviour aboard an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos. Emmason had faced a five-count charge, including claims of assaulting flight attendants and causing a disturbance during the journey.
Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the case after the police prosecution formally applied to withdraw the charges. The decision brings an end to the high-profile incident, which drew widespread public attention and debate over passenger conduct and airline policies.
The prosecution’s move signals either insufficient evidence to proceed or a reassessment of the matter by authorities. With the case dismissed, Emmason walks free of all legal implications, while Ibom Air closes a chapter on what had become a controversial episode.
