The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). The appointment, which took effect on September 4, 2025, follows the redeployment of DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi to Delta State as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations.
Hundeyin, a seasoned officer with vast experience in police communications, holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Lagos State University and a Master’s in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also completed a professional certification in Civil-Military Coordination at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Kaduna.
He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, a Member of the International Public Relations Association, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria. His professional background reflects his strong expertise in communication and public relations.
In the course of his career, Hundeyin has served in several capacities, including as Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, and Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Abuja. He also represented Nigeria in the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan. Until his new posting, he was the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command.
With this appointment, IGP Egbetokun has charged Hundeyin to strengthen communication between the police and the public while building trust and confidence in the Force.
