The Ondo State Police Command has arrested and arraigned a 53-year old man, Babawale Kolawole for allegedly engaging in incest and repeatedly sexually abusing a minor.
According to the police, the 16-yearold victim reported the abuse to the Command on September 13, 2025, alleging that her uncle subjected her to sexual assault on a near-daily basis.
The incident occured No. 12 Okeodunwo Street, Igbado, Ondo.
She further claimed that after each incident, the suspect wiped her private parts with a piece of cloth.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, disclosed in a press statement made available to Weekend Hope that Kolawole had allegedly facilitated the termination of the girl’s pregnancies on two occasions.
Following the report, the Gender-Based Offences Unit of the Command promptly intervened, leading to the suspect’s arrest and the processing of the case for prosecution.
Kolawole has since been arraigned before a competent court and remanded in custody, awaiting further trial.
The Ondo State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the rights of women and children and vowed that perpetrators of such crimes would face the full force of the law.
